The Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, Art 45.051(q) states — You may be able to require that a Nacogdoches moving traffic violation charge be dismissed by successfully completing a Nacogdoches driving safety class or a motorcycle operator training course. You will lose that right if before your appearance date you do not provide the Court with notice of your request to take the course.
ELIGIBILITY:
You are eligible to take Driving Safety Course if the following DO NOT apply to you:
- You hold a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL);
- You have taken a Court-ordered DSC for another ticket within one year from the date of this citation;
- You are charged with:
- 95 miles per hour or more;
- Speeding 25 miles per hour or more over the posted speed limit;
- Passing a school bus;
- Committing a serious traffic violation;
- Failing to stop and provide information or render aid after an accident;
- Committing an offense in a construction zone when workers are present;
- You do not have a valid Texas Drivers License
Nacogdoches Traffic Tickets:
All moving violations except as mentioned above are eligible for a driving safety course dismissal, providing you have not taken A defensive driving course within the past 12 months to dismiss a traffic ticket.
DRIVING SAFETY (DEFENSIVE DRIVING) CLASS COST:
In Texas, each city municipal court and County precinct justice of the peace or JP court has an application process which must be completed prior to enrolling in a driving safety class or taking a defensive driving course online.
Each court also charges a preset fee, which must be paid to the court.
You will also need a certified copy of your Texas DPS Driving Record Type 3A which is available at the time you register to take the driving safety course online.
